A Note from the Editor
Dear Readers,
Thank you for reading Cardinal Compositions, Volume 8! Our editors have dedicated significant effort to this issue, carefully selecting essays, visuals, and assignment sheets from the 2023 calendar year.
This journal celebrates undergraduate achievements and showcases the most effective assignments from Composition Program courses, and these submissions represent the program's finest work. For this year's issue, our editors considered the various genres in which students write. Our issue features a digital zine, two professional discourse analyses, and instructor assignment sheets - one regarding creative writing and the other examining the rhetorical impacts of AI and writing.
The University of Louisville is home to exceptional students and faculty, and we hope this issue highlights some of the best among them! We extend our gratitude to Arri Ho for the stunning cover art, which was taken from the zine featured in this issue.
Our editors thank our supportive department and invite you to explore the 2023-24 issue of Cardinal Compositions.
Sincerely,
Chelsea Schaper
