Cardinal Compositions
Volume 5 (2021)
Cardinal Compositions is an online, open-access journal that annually features outstanding work from UofL undergraduate students in Composition Program courses. For this special issue, the editors have organized the essays around works of art, photography, and poetry, showcasing a beautiful blend of research, passion, and creativity. We invite you to use this volume as a classroom resource by assigning these essays as readings and by consulting the assignment sheets as inspiration for your own prompts.
The artwork on the cover, "A Schism," was created by Keith Merriman, and we encourage you to check out more of his work on Instagram: alpha_coyote_designs and Facebook: Keith Merriman. Keith Merriman has studied fine arts at the University of Louisville and works as a tattoo and freelance artist in Kentucky. He is heavily influenced by graphic illustrations and vibrant abstractionism.
