Abstract
Almost nine out of ten W ASF AA area financial aid offices had validation procedures in place in 1985-86, and about half were more stringent than those imposed by federal regulations in 1986-87. This article describes the impact and effectiveness of federal verification procedures in W ASF AA area financial aid offices. It is based upon a survey taken in October 1986 of WASFAA region financial aid offices.
